MOONSTAR MADE IN KURUME for CURLY&Co with Number Plus
CURLY has collaborated with MOONSTAR to create a new product using CURLY original fabric with Number Plus finishing, an innovative treatment which provides the garment a strong water-repellent property while keeping comfortableness.
The sophisticated design from CURLY is fused with quality from MOONSTAR to create a top of the line product.
Utilizing MOONSTAR’s wooden molds that were developed for the global market in the 1970s, MOONSTAR produced special version of shoes for CURLY ranging from the upper part of the shoes all the way to the outsole.

MOONSTAR was established in 1873 in the city of Kurume, Kyushu. Kurume is a famous town in Japan dubbed the “Sneaker Town”. For over 140 years MOONSTAR has been committed to create top quality shoes guaranteeing that every sneaker they create is comfortable to wear.
They research the shape of the foot and carefully select the rubber used in the shoe. This ensures that the shoe would be excellent in fit and comfortableness. MOONSTAR creates all of their shoes by hand. They put in long hours of labor in order to create the most top quality shoe possible.
[VULCANIZED]
Only few manufacturers in Japan are able to manage the technique of “VULCANIZES TREAT”. Vulcanizing shoes involves using high heat and pressure in order to stick the upper part of the shoe to the sole. This is done by putting the raw rubber and sulfur under high heat which creates a strong bond between the rubber of the sole and the fabric of the shoe.

Number Plus treatment does not use any resin or organic solvents. We rely truly on the power of pure cotton to maintain the comfort of the clothing while having strong water repellent capabilities.
